Vietnam Mold & Tooling Sourcing

Injection molds & tooling, sourced and managed for you in Vietnam.

We vet mold makers, run DFM reviews, supervise trial shots, and ship qualified tools to your dock — so you skip the trial-and-error of finding a Vietnam mold maker on your own.

How It Works

From your part drawing to qualified tooling — 5 steps.

You hand us the part. We handle factory selection, DFM, mold build, T0/T1 trials, and shipment.

1

Brief & DFM

Send STEP/IGES + spec. We run DFM review and flag mold-ability issues before quoting.

2

Factory Match

We shortlist 2–3 mold makers from our network based on tonnage, steel, and timeline fit.

3

Mold Build

We supervise tool design, steel selection (P20, NAK80, S136, H13), CNC, EDM, polishing.

4

Trial & Approval

T0/T1 trial shots, dimensional report, sample shipment to you for first-article approval.

5

Ship & Support

Production run or tool shipment door-to-door. We stay on point for engineering changes.

Precision plastic parts produced from injection molds

What we source from Vietnam

Our network covers prototype tooling through high-cavitation production molds. We focus on shops with documented quality systems and English-capable engineers.

  • Plastic injection molds (1–32 cavity, P20 / NAK80 / S136 / H13 / SKD61)
  • Two-shot, insert-molding, and overmolding tools
  • Die-cast tooling (aluminum, zinc) and rubber compression molds
  • Mold flow analysis, hot/cold runner systems, MUD inserts
  • Production runs: prototype, low-volume, and series molding
  • Secondary ops: pad printing, ultrasonic welding, assembly

Factory Vetting

We pre-qualify mold makers on capability, financial stability, IP practices, and prior export track record.

  • On-site audit (we go in person)
  • ISO 9001 verification
  • NDA & IP protection setup

  • Trial shot witness
  • Pre-shipment AQL sampling
Why Sourcing-as-a-Service

Three reasons going direct fails

Sourcing molds direct from a Vietnam shop you've never visited has predictable failure modes. We've seen all three.

Risk 1

The shop oversells capability

"Yes we can do it" → tooling lead time slips 4–6 weeks because the shop subcontracted EDM or polishing without telling you.

→ We audit machine list and verify in-house operations before quoting.
Risk 2

DFM gaps surface at T1

Trial shots reveal sink, flash, or undercut issues that should have been caught before steel was cut. Now you eat the rework cost.

→ We run DFM review with mold flow analysis before tool kickoff.
Risk 3

You can't tell what you're getting

Photos look fine. Dimensional report from supplier looks fine. Tool arrives — wrong steel grade, hot runner controller missing.

→ Independent pre-shipment inspection against your spec, not theirs.

Common Questions

What buyers usually ask

How is your fee structured?

We charge a fixed sourcing fee per project plus a small management retainer during the build phase. No hidden markup on the mold itself — you see the factory's quote and our line item separately. Exact numbers depend on tool complexity and volume; we share a quote after the consultation call.

Will I know which factory is making my mold?

Yes — once NDAs are signed and you've decided to move forward, you have full visibility into the shop, its address, and its capabilities. Some buyers prefer to visit; we coordinate that. Pre-engagement, we keep shop names confidential to protect both sides.

What's the typical lead time for a production mold?

Prototype molds (aluminum or P20, low cavity): 4–6 weeks. Production-grade molds with multi-cavity, hot runners, and full polish: 8–12 weeks from drawing freeze. Add 1–2 weeks for trial shots and approvals. Rush programs are possible at premium.

How do you handle IP protection?

NDA signed by the mold maker before drawings are released. We retain master copies of all design files and tool ownership documentation. For sensitive programs, we can split the work across two shops so no single shop sees the full assembly.

Can the mold be shipped to my own molder later?

Yes. You own the tool. We ship in a steel crate with full documentation (steel certs, tool drawing, eject sequence, processing parameters). Many of our clients build the tool in Vietnam and run production wherever makes sense — Mexico, US, EU.
